GALAXY Tab 3 Kids

Hi we meet again. How's you day?Manage to catch up with something relax and cool this weekend? I hope you mange to have a plenty rest before heading up to works or study. So today I found something that really attracted me in today's technology. It's something that related to kids nowadays. As we can see today kids nowadays not into playing the "pondok-pondok" or more to kitchen toys just like me when I was 5 but today I'm quite shocked seeing kids even advanced than us. They each one of them even own an Iphone or Ipad or tab which I not even own it yet. This show that how technology has change kids nowadays. 

This article that I found, it is the stories about SME or Samsung Malaysia Electronics had introduced new products of Samsung which is GALAXY Tab 3 Kids design especially for kids age between 3 to 9 years old. This special tab come with the full completely for the education of the kids and also set up with the security application which this tab also come with dual function whereby the parents also can use it too. 

Ng Long Shyang, the Vice President of Information Technology and Communication said that the reason why they come out with this tablet due to kids nowadays are so into the technology and there are not one of the company come out with the idea that produce technology device specially made for kids. This tab specially come out with the education application, creativity and also games which consists of 600 applications that can be download from the Kid's Store. The GALAXY Tab for kids had approached the market on 21st November 2013 and at the moment only available in yellow color which this will attract kids to use it. 

The price of this tab is about RM 799 that comes together with the flat screen of 7 inch that operated through Android 4.1 system. Apart from that, this tab also have WiFi, bluetooth 3.0, USB 2.0 and memory with capacity of 8 gigabytes. Ng also stated that even though this tab specially design for the kids but at the same time the parents also can use it too. 

Kids nowadays are more advanced that me in technology and if we look around us kids age around 4-9 years old already own an Iphone each one of them and it is actually not so good in term of adaption to their life. Maybe some of them feel that kids who learn and know technology is good for the future, however as a kids they also need to learn other things which just like kids in the past learn. So, it's up to the parents whether to buy it or not as we can see the functions are quite good and also the price is affordable.

Is Technology the key to Aging Well?

Hello, Hi, we meet again. Today I would like to share with all the readers about something that I found while surfing the Twitter. It is something that have to do with the study results. The study is conducted by Philips, a Netherlands company, is a diversified technology company that focused on improving people's life through meaningful innovation in the areas of Healthcare, Consumer Lifestyle and Lighting.

The topic of the study is about "Is Technology The Key to Aging Well?". The study is conducted by Philips with the Global Social Enterprise Initiative at Georgetown's McDonough School of Business asked baby boomers and Generation X about technology's ability to improve their well-being and quality of life as they age. The survey basically conducted to over 118 million Americans that the respondents age is over 50 years old. The study basically focused more Generation X in asking their opinions about how they perceived of using technology in their daily life. Study is more to examine the barriers to technology's ability to improve quality of life for aging population. Based on this study it said that 95% believe that today's technology needs to be better developed to help them successfully age at home or age in place. However, 73% of boomers and Gen X believed that they want to age in their own home and they will have significant barriers to achieving this through the aid of technology such as access and adoption, cost, privacy, complexity of use, product integration and public policy. 

Based on the picture above there are 18% of those over 65 own a smart phone and anly 56% use the Internet. These behaviors are echoed in the Philips study as both Gen X and boomers feel that their aging parents (age 60+) are not utilizing technology as well as they could. The findings also include that there are about 53% of boomers and Gen X believed it would be good thing if their parents used technology more with 45% stating that it will help them stay better connected with friends and family. There are 9% of surveyed believe that their parents are savvy when it comes to use the technology. Boomers and Gen X want their aging parents to utilize monitoring technologies, such as home monitors (45%) or security systems (43%).. However only 17% are using home health monitors and 12 percent have a security system. 40% of boomers and Gen X said their parents think technology is "too hard" to learn. It is also said that the problems of learning to use a technology device is one of the potential causes that discourage them to be able to use technology in today's life. 

Bill Novelli, Professor of the practice Georgetown University McDonough School of Business and member of the Philips Aging Well Think Tank said that, " For people to live independent, fulfilling lives in their own homes and communities as they age, technology must continue to become easier to learn and use while also being better integrated with adjacent technologies including patient care". Novelli also stated that Philips is helping lead the way to make aging well a reality for more people. Philips is trying to make sure that people will be able to aging well with the development of the technology in today's life due to some of the boomers and Gen X still find problems in order to operate the new technology. In order to cope with those barriers, Philips trying to help others through aging well with the technology in our real life. 

It is quite an interesting survey that conducted by Philips due to as we noticed today peoples who aged above 60+ years old are one of the age populations that not using the high technology devices due to they find themselves cannot handle with the high tech in their life.

Seoul Subway Digital View

Hi. How's your day? Hope that everything going smoothly and according to what you have planned. I really hope that you enjoy reading my blog while scroll over the pictures that I post during my travelling basically to Korea. I'm sorry if you are feeling a bit bias towards me because I always post about Korean Technology but I can't help because I love to share stories about what I already experienced it because by telling like this way, it makes us feel real thing. So today, I would like to share about my experienced while using the Digital View that located at subway station in Seoul. First off all what is Digital View? Let's scroll down here.

Korea is one of the country that have the best subway station in the world. The way they design it looks so creative and innovative with the high technology that peoples never dream about. The future subway navigation which is known as Digital View was created by Daum, one of Korea's leading internet portals whereby it has been installed almost everywhere in the Seoul Subway System. Digital View resembles a smartphone, only much it's larger than our phone and it has 100% gigantic touch screen. This gigantic screen can help everyone that need help in term of looking at the map around Seoul. Below are some features of Digital View:

Subway Navigation : With this Digital View, you can click where at your start stations and the ending stations that you want to go. It will optimize the route for you, showing you the way on the map on how to go there and also where to transfer due to Seoul have many Exit. I already tried it by searching about the stations that I want to go and it's really help me. We don't need to feel worried if we lost due to Digital View can help us and they are also friendly due to it comes with English language too.

Satellite View Map : It is more like Google Earth, Daum also displays satellite imaging of the city and the whole country. This satellite view map can even know on how to go to a specific building and it's tell you the way to go there. And to be more interesting, this map can also view the road and the top of the building.

Phone : Digital View has a telephone whereby here we can use our T-money card to make a call. T-money card is an electronic money that can be used to ride buses and subways that usually comes in card form. I have tried once to make a call using my T-money card to Malaysia but maybe I don't know on how to operate it and fail to make a call. Yes it has a dial tone and the line but it's failed to connect it. I using my T-money card which we can insert it and make a call and make sure our T-money card have money inside there.

Information : Besides that, this Digital View can give us any information about the news, weather, financial information even any event that happen surrounding Seoul and it is really amazing. It's also display advertisement and commercial breaks which it's like watching a television.

This is the examples of Digital View at Seoul Subway Station. It's too big and everything is 100% touch screen. It's really so cool whereby I love to scroll here for many times even hours due to it's give me something new about technology invention. Never thought that this Digital View not only give us information about map but it's also can give news, have commercial break, sometimes have video of Korean actor being playing here. 

See the telephone there. We can make a call. It's amazing right. When we click at the place that we want to go, Digital View not only give us the direction on how to go but it's also provide us the attractions that have in that place. It's also tell us what's event happening there and how we can participate that event. 

This is the satellite map that the Digital View have. Looks it's not only about viewing the building where is it but it show us the road to go there!. Wow!. Look here we can see the building that we want to go clearly and we can also enlarge the image by touch the plus or minus there in order to see the image bigger or smaller.

Look how amazing this Digital View here. It's really something that we never ever dream about by having this thing it's really can help us in too many ways. It gives us information, enjoyable, interesting and the tourists especially no need to worry when they want to travel alone. With this Digital View, we can travel free and easy without worries. It shows the map of Seoul overall and the map of subway station. Digital View have so much functions and it help our daily life become more easier.

So when you travel to Seoul, don't forget to try the Digital View. It's amazing and peoples like me who are a bit slow in term of new technology, it's kind of experienced new things in my life. How I wish Malaysia also have Digital View to be located maybe at KL Sentral due to its easier for peoples to get the information. The main purpose Seoul have this Digital View maybe is due to they are the country that really advanced in technology. In order to experienced something new in the technology, I suggest that you go to country like Korea and Japan, they really creative in invent new ideas about today's technology.

Buzzer at Cafe

Hi. We meet again. So in today's post, I would like to share about my experienced while travelling to Seoul South Korea. I love travelling so much and so far I travel to Singapore, Bangkok and South Korea 2 times already. While travelling at South Korea, I found something very interesting about their cafe. Each cafe at South Korea are very beautiful, unique, versatile, cozy and their services is the best. 

So today I would like to share something about " Buzzer " which maybe some of you already know what it is but as for me the buzzer is a bit new word for me. " Buzzer " or beeper is an audio signalling device, which may be mechanical, electromechanical or piezoelectric. Typical uses of buzzers and beepers include alarm devices, timers and confirmation of user input such as a mouse click or keystroke. Here we are, we already have a brief idea what buzzer is all about. So how buzzer can relate to cafe especially in Seoul?. Did you know that if you travel to Seoul almost all their cafes have buzzer. What does buzzer do in the cafe?

As we know buzzer also is like a beeper so this is because the owner of the cafe use buzzer in order to be alert with the customer's order. When I'm at Seoul, after I make any order about any drinks or food that I want, the cashier basically will give me a buzzer. At first I gave the cashier the "confused look" which I asked them what this "thing" going to do with me?. Then later the cashier explain to me that this "thing" is a buzzer. The cashier told me that after you make an order, we will give you a buzzer which you will hold it and wait until your order is ready to pick up at the counter. The buzzer will beep or some of them will beep and give lights which it tell us that our order are ready to pick up. It's kind of cool isn't it?. 

When I come back to Malaysia I'm thinking while not our country do like this too, no need to call out the waiter asking our order when to be ready and give buzzer to the customers. This is something new to me as this buzzer is one of the technology that Seoul used widely there and it's work for them. The buzzer that the cafe used normally sometime also located at the desk or table at the restaurant. So when the customers wants to make an order, just press the buzzer or the bell and give out the menu to the waiter that will come to our table. I hope that one day all the restaurants and cafe in Malaysia will have this kind of buzzer and bell in order to make our job easy. With the technology invention that the Seoul cafe used it, it just make their jobs become easier and they also can cut cost in term of workers. 

Here I attached some of pictures of the buzzer that I managed to take while I travelling Seoul during January 2013. 

This is one of the examples of buzzer at Hello Kitty Cafe at Hongdae, Seoul. As we can see here the shape of buzzer is kind of rectangle and it is decorated cutely with the design of Hello Kitty. Did you see the red light that showed number 15? That's mean I'm the customer number 15 at that cafe to be served but no worries because the service is good and it wont take too long to wait our order. Once my order are ready to pick up at the counter, the buzzer will beep and the light automatically will show. So once I picked up my order then this buzzer need to give back to the cashier at the pickup counter.

This also one of the example of buzzer at Mouse Rabbit Coffee at Kyunghee University, Seoul. As we can see here, at this buzzer, it show number 11 which mean I'm the 11th customer that have to wait to get my order ready. Unlike above pictures, the number of the customer show through the light while this buzzer the number already printed at the logo at the buzzer.

" The Bridge of Life "

Hi. We meet again. So today I would like to share one interesting stories about technology that can change life of human. Accidentally I found one video at YouTube that talk about how technology can help to save someone life in South Korea. 

" The bridge of life " is the name of the video that I found in the Internet. It is basically about the video that tell how Samsung life insurance create something at the bridge that want to make the rate of people commit suicide in Seoul decreased. Seoul is known as one of the country that have mostly a higher number of people commit suicide among their citizens. Basically their main reason that they commit suicide is due to the stress and the number one place that popular for people at Seoul to commit suicide is by jumping from the bridge. 

In this video it's highlighted the largest number of people have given up their lives in Mapo Bridge and through this how Samsung life insurance decided to do something about Mapo bridge in order to save a life. In this video, Samsung interviewed many peoples about their opinion on how they can prevent from peoples commit suicide at the bridge. 

So here, SAMSUNG did something in order to change people's life. At first they try to places a simple light at along the way of the pedestrian walk at the Mapo bridge. This lights that located at the bridge will be light up once there are peoples walk there in order to surprise the peoples and also bring them joy. Samsung created the senses that will sense peoples as they walk by at the bridge. Samsung said that they wanted this Mapo bridge of life to start a conversation with peoples by trying to make the lights turn on once there are peoples walking at the bridge. They decided to put something along the walk side such as words of wisdom, jokes, pictures of peoples and motivation words. All this words and pictures will pop out together with lights that located at the pedestrian walk when there are peoples pass by. Therefore peoples can enjoy the lights at the bridge and at the same time they can enjoy reading those magical words and pictures which it can help to save peoples life from commit suicide. Besides that, there are also the mannequins that will be located at the bridge as a part of the joy to be given to peoples while travel there.

After 1 year and 6 month of production, with the help of 142 staffs Samsung life insurance managed to make all of this things come true and many peoples started to come and visit the Mapo bridge and they feel happy by looking at the changes that make by Samsung. The new invention of the bridge with the length of 2.2km have given a new life to peoples and this show how technology can help to save people's life. With the 2200 LED lights and sensors, it produced something which never peoples dream about in order to help to prevent the rate of commit suicide become slower in South Korea. The 1.8 km messages on the railing at the bridge can help peoples think about their life twice and focused on the future. Technology help Mapo bridge to be a friend and talk to them which this bring new life to peoples. Here Samsung created the special censored that reacted to peoples as they walk by the bridge. 

September 26, 2012 Mapo bridge is ready to open for their new bridge in order to save someone life and gave them a new resolution of life. Some of the wisdom words for examples like " How have you been?", "What's troubling you?", " Just go and see the person that you miss" and etc. Those words looks like it's talk to you like a friend and while we reading all those words it will make us realized that time has pass by very smoothly. 

So in conclusion here, Samsung Life Insurance has help peoples life and save them by trying to invent something into the bridge by using the new technology. What is mAh?

Hello!!!!. How's your day?. I'm having a bit stress lately due to many assignments need to submit plus some test are going around so it's a bit tired but never mind, life must always be happy and just enjoy it. Remember when I told at the few last posts that I will talk more about power bank? Here I am. I will talk about mAh here whereby this mAh is located inside the power bank. So what is mAh?.Let's together explore more below here.

So when I'm searching the power bank about few weeks ago at PC Fair Mid Valley, the first thing that I look at is the power of mAh. My friend asking me why must you look at the mAh? and what is all about mAh?. So here, I can explain a little bit what is mAh. 

Peoples always ask what is the difference between 7000mAh and 20,000mAh?. As we all know,power bank is a portable charger or some people call it as a mobile charger. Power bank can keep power and transfer is to another battery when we use it. The main component of this gadget is a rechargeable battery, which has various size, widely measured in mAh (mili Ampere per hour). Therefore here we can said that the bigger mAh, the bigger its capacity. The more mAh at one power bank has, the more battery that the power bank can charge. 

For example here, when we have a 8000 mAh power bank, it means this gadget has longer use compared to a 4000 mAh. If we use this power bank to charge an ordinary mobile phone, which usually has 1300 mAh battery, it can be used ideally until more than 6 times. Interpreting such explanation, we can grab what is mAh on power bank. The bigger mAh the better it should be, and of course the more flexible it will be. Simply, mAh on power bank points to its capacity to charge other battery. Surely, the more capacity, the more expensive this product. 

I would like to share with the readers the power bank that I managed grab when I went to PC Fair that located at Mid Valley shopping mall about 2 weeks ago. The power bank that I bought include 20,000 mAh and it is the biggest among all the power bank that sell that day. Of course the more mAh the more costly it cost and it cost RM99.00 per piece but it's worth it to buy. From the sales person said that even though this power bank cannot charge the camera due to camera's high battery but it can charge our hand phone many times like more than 5 times per day. However the disadvantages are that it's a bit heavy to bring along everywhere and it has only 2 portable that can charge into it. When I bought this, I have free one portable wire. This power bank have a lights than when we used it the light will keep on lighting until we finish it. To charge this power bank it's the same with charge our hand phone. We need to charge it until the lights at the power bank stop blinking. Below are some pictures about my power bank that I bought. 

This is the blue power bank that I managed to buy during PC Fair at Mid Valley. The size is not that big, size is like the Oxford Fajar the small one dictionary, a bit like that but this power bank kind of heavy. 

This is the two portable that we can use to charge our mobile phone at the same time but make sure we have suitable cable to connect into it.

Fortifying against cyber threats in retail sector

Hello, we meet again. In this post, i would like to give a brief summary about one article and I think it is good to share with all the readers out there. Hope that you will not feel bored while reading this post because I really don't know on how to write it beautifully like any blogger did. 

The article that I found title is " Fortifying against cyber threats in retail sector " from the Malaysia SME newspaper in the ICT Buzz date October 5 - October 18, 2013 whereby this newspaper produced 2 weeks per month. basically this article delivered informatively by the Fortinet's Vice President for South East Asia and Hong Kong Dato' Seri George Chan and Fortinet Regional Technical Director for Southeast Asia and Hong Kong. Eric Chan. First of all, here I will talk a bit what is Fortinet. As I Google from the Internet, Fortinet is an American company that specializes in network security appliances. As this article will talk about cyber threats as well as security for the retail sector, then it is vital to interviewed both of them who are expert in Internet security. 

Retail industry is one of the biggest business industry in today's market and it is one of the top 3 industries that targeted by the cyber criminals. Mostly the cyber criminals will attacked at the credit card system due to this system easy to breach. Dato' Seri George Chan said that it is necessary for retailers throughout Malaysia to know the security of network connectivity in their business. It is also important for the retailers to have cost effective "network security solutions" in order to prevent cyber threats. Fortinent had highlighted five (5) issues that urged Malaysia's retail industry to consider when dealing with network security. The highlighted issues are multi-threat security systems, high performance networks for excellent customer experience, in-depth defense for the in-store wireless LAN, adoption of innovative in-store services and payment card industry data security standard (PCI-DSS) compliance support. 

Apart from that, it is necessary for retailer to have a stronger threat prevention techniques to protect viruses and also malware. Fortinent also stated that they have advanced security system that can help retailers to increase their operation efficiency. Furthermore it is also important that retailers to ensure that their networks are able to perform satisfactory where continuous credit card processing and point of sale connectivity is concerned. Retailers need to be aware with the attackers that can breach the systems and get the data from retailers which they will wrongly use it for their own purposes. Finally here, it is important for the retailers to be able to analyse user and device behavior on the in-store network and respond to any threat. 

So, such a long story here I gave from this article. I'm sorry if the readers feel bored about it but I guess that I hope I can give you some information especially to the retailers. House of the future

Hi. Welcome again to my blog. So today I'm going to talk about one of the video that I found in YouTube which this video tell us about the future house that Samsung created it. Even though this video is a bit old which released on the year 2008 but here I will try to summarized what this video is all about. I don't have any idea whether this house has been invented yet or not. As we know South Korea is known as one of the country that have high technology which they have implemented something that can make things or tasks easier to peoples out there. 

So, here is the video that I mentioned before, it's a future house that will be or perhaps has been implemented in South Korea. 

As we can see from the above video, this house is control over by our smart phone which this is new in the world of technology. You can see that the house need to identify the face of the owner before entering the house and the owner would no need to bring any keys. 

Besides that, the house also have a screen which it shows that what the fridge have inside there and to be surprise the house able to tell the owner the expired date for each of the foods that they have. This is good because sometimes we as a human being always forget about the expired dates of the food and we keep the food too long inside the fridge and eat it without noticing the dates. The screen also tells the owner what types of food that being taken out for the dinner. Apart from that, noticed in this video, the presenter said that it have something stick at behind of the plate that have food taken out from fridge. That is the chip or something that looks like a card. The chip will tell the owner about the ingredients of the food being taken out which it tell what are good or not for the cooking later. It is more telling peoples how much calories, fats, vitamins that the food contains which this can give the owner some opinions whether to cook that food or not. The future house also tell the owner on how to cook a meal which the screen will pop out some menu and owner just have to touch the screen what to cook and it will automatically pop out the way to cook it. The house is smarter that human where you can see that they know and tell us how to cook. 

Owner of the house is lucky to have this kind of technology because the E-table that places at the living room can connect to the smart phone which we can view the messages, pictures, music even video at the wall of our hall. Take a look at the wall of the kid's room. The wallpaper keep on changing. That's the E-table jobs whereby we can easily switch the wallpaper on the wall and also there are music that come out together suit with the wallpaper that been choosing. The kids also can see their favorite cartoon video on the wall by using widget. The house also have a screen that can teach the kids on the language course especially English. 

This future house is just amazing and futuristic to the customers which this house listen to the customers order and it will make our jobs even easier. Don't you guys wish to have a smart house like this? It is a house that have great development in the technology, easier for us to operate the house, and also save energy which who knows in the future maybe Samsung can developed a green house concept to the world. I wish that I have a house like this whereby when I need to cook something, I can just touch the screen and the steps pop out like that which it save my time to search on the internet on how to cook it. 

Well, yeah we know house like this might sometimes can give advantage to us but also it gives harm to us. We never know what is it but it just up to the owner whether to have a smart house that listen to the owner or just a simple house that doesn't need to identify face when need to enter the house. What is power bank? When I first heard this word I don't have anything that can describe exactly what is Power Bank. Until one day when I saw one of my friend use something that is really different to charge her phone then I asked her what is it and she said this is "Power Bank". Then suddenly so many questions pop out inside my head. I'm asking myself how can that square thing charge your phone without even plug in?. Did that "square thing" have electrical things inside it? I'm really curious to know about it because I never used it and I don't even know that we can charge something without plug it into the socket. So, here I'm going to share to the reader what is "Power Bank".

"Power Bank" or mobile power bank is more to portable electronic products in the world that can make peoples charge their mobile phone or any other electronic products without plug into the electric socket. Peoples can charge their camera, camcorders, portable DVD, MP3, MP4, handphone, GPS and so on. Power Bank help peoples to charge their products when they are travelling or business by charging through the cable that have in it. Sometimes when we are travelling and our hand phone, camera or camcorders lack of batteries and we cannot find any plug then this is the time that Power Bank is useful to us. Sometimes when this thing happen, we get so stress out due cannot use our phone or camera and we tend to buy extra batteries but this require us to spend more. Instead of buying spare batteries, why not we buy one the Power Bank which can be useful when this situation happen.

Power Bank have so many cable and sometime we can charge two or three phones at the same time. Mobile Power Bank can solve many mobile devices, power supply problems in order to solve the power shortage and then make work and travel carefree. Kinect + Coca Cola advertisements

Hello. We meet again. So this time around I found something interesting at Youtube. This advertisement is a collaboration of Kinect, Microsoft Kinect is a motion controller which this machine placed at one of South Korea shopping mall and have a simple dancing game by K-pop popular band 2PM( my favorite group ^^). This machine allow peoples to follow the dancing step at the big screen of Coca Cola machine and if they manage to follow it perfectly then they can get free drinks.

A bit about Me

Assalammualaikum, my name is Nadiah and currently a MBA student at UiTM Shah Alam Malaysia. In a semester 2 already and should be graduate insyaAllah next year hopefully no repeat papers (Pray for me). This is my first ever post about this blog, MIS 750 which is a requirement need to be fulfill in order to get better grade.
